A textured bark similar to the small nugget, but larger is size and appearance. Screened to contain pieces 1'-2" in size, the larger pieces offer more durability and less fade. Naturally dark but color can vary.
USAGE:
Often used in sloped areas for better erosion protection. Often used around trees and shrubs for moisture retention and weed suppression. Not an herbicide. Often used in large, open planter beds.

DESCRIPTION:
A thickly textured bark style, this natural material is screened to remove the fines and for a more even, nugget-lie appearance. sized from 3/8" to 1". This textured style provides more durability than bark with fines and lasts longer with fewer top ups. This is typically red to brown in color but will have natural variation.
USAGE:
Often used in large container planters for moisture retention and a finished look. Often used in smaller, tight yard spaces due to its maneuverability and resistance to scattering. Due to its softer texture, it can be used as a pet-friendly alternative with consistent and proper cleaning practices.

Unlike bark, hog fuel is not simply the bark layer of the tree, it is a mixture of bark, wood chips, shavings, and sawdust. Can be odorous and not typically recommended for fine garden or landscaping applications.
USAGE:
Often used around animal enclosure borders for mud control. Often used for erosion and mud control due to its moisture-absorbing properties. Often used for unpaved outdoor roads or paddocks. Not recommended for animal bedding.

This bark is coarse in texture with wide variation in size from piece to piece, and will have fines smaller than 1". USAGE:
Helps to regulate soil temperature and protect roots in colder months. Often used in garden beds to aid weed suppression and moisture retention. Not an herbicide. Often used where minor wind erosion is expected due to better stability from larger pieces.

Red bark is similar to Fine Dark bark, allowing gardners to make a choice based on their desired appearance. Due to being a natural product, color will vary and change over time with exposure.
