5/8″ Minus – Black

DESCRIPTION:

This graded mix includes mechanically crushed dark rock, up to 5/8" and all fine pieces. Given its rough edges and angular pieces, this material works great as a binder, since it packs down tightly and stays in place, making it ideal for unpaved parking areas or to fill behind retaining walls. This is also commonly referred to as crushed rock or driveway rock.

USAGE:

Provides a clean look and weed suppression in landscape borders or rock garden beds. Often used as a top layer for residential driveways.

1 1/4″ Minus – Black

DESCRIPTION:

This is mechanically crushed rock, screened to 1 1/4" in size and including fines. Darker in color and with more variation than natural grey rock. The larger rock pieces, as well as the presence of fines, allows for deeper compaction, making this useful in road bases, heavy equipment parking and storage, and erosion control.

USAGE:

Use as a base material for concrete or asphalt. Works well as a parking base for RV's or trailers. Stays in place better than smaller rock for erosion control on slopes or in ditches.

1 1/4″ Clean – Black

DESCRIPTION:

This is a mechanically crushed rock product, graded to 1 1/4"pieces and washed to remove fines. The lack of fines and angular edges allow for stability without compaction, making this material a good choice in small to medium drainage applications, such as around septic systems and foundation drains.

USAGE:

Use as a top layer for muddy driveways or parking areas. Useful as a foundation material, particularly to improve drainage. Large angular pieces present well in landscape applications.

2″x4″ Quarry Spalls

DESCRIPTION:

This is an angular, natural rock material, cleaned to minimize fines, and ranging in size from 2" to 4". Since fines are minimal, this product is especially useful in areas that are soft and wet, due to the large pieces and superior drainage. Use this in construction entry points, large-scale erosion control, and utility access roads.

USAGE:

Perfect for adding drainage and stabilizing soft, wet ground. The angular pieces work well for erosion control. Provides a rugged attractive look in landscaped gardens. Used for check dams for erosion control

Fine SandFine Sand

Fine Sand

DESCRIPTION:

This Fine Sand material is a grey sand product. It functions well as the stabilizing layer for pavers and pathway stones, once the ground is leveled and prepped and stones are laid. Sweep this into the gaps between finished stones, once level, to help lock pavers in place. Since this product is also suitable for play area applications, it is commonly referred to as Play Sand.

USAGE:

Often used for stabilizing pavers, stepping stones or flagstones. Suitable for sandbox use. Can be used for lawn top-dressing and to improve soil drainage.
